Battery and Range

The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 features upgraded battery packs. The Standard Range model now utilizes a 63 kWh battery, while the Long Range models utilize an 84 kWh battery. This update boosts the rear-wheel-drive range to an EPA-estimated 318 miles. Most importantly, the 2026 model comes standard with a NACS charging port, allowing you to plug directly into Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.

Performance and XRT Trim

The 2026 Ioniq 5 delivers impressive performance with up to 320 horsepower in the AWD configuration. New for this year is the XRT trim, designed for adventure. It features a 23mm suspension lift, exclusive black 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and unique digital camouflage cladding, making it capable of handling light off-road trails with ease.

Interior Design

The 2026 interior has been refined based on owner feedback. A rear windshield wiper is now standard, improving visibility in snow and rain. The center console has been redesigned to include physical buttons for frequently used controls like heated seats, and the new steering wheel features interactive pixel lights. The cabin remains spacious with sustainable materials and the signature sliding Universal Island console.

Technology and Infotainment

The 2026 Ioniq 5 upgrades to the ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) system. This means faster processing speeds and, finally, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trims. The system also supports Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to keep your vehicle current long after purchase.

Safety

The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 includes the updated SmartSense suite. This includes a more advanced Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and the new Hands-On Detection (HOD) steering wheel sensor for more accurate driver monitoring during Highway Driving Assist 2 operation.
